Andrew White is an entrepreneur. He established Sweat Equity Partners in 2010 as a vehicle to launch new businesses and acquire lower middle market businesses.  In his career, he led the creation of Allied Warranty, Lone Star Repair, Geovox Security, HomeTool.com, and Path Environmental Technology

As a thirty-four-year-old, Andrew bootstrapped his first start-up by selling his house and investing what little he had into Allied Warranty. This investment became the foundation for Sweat Equity Partners and the genesis for its name because with a little equity, and a lot of sweat, you can create substantial value, good-paying jobs and opportunities for others to do the same. Today, Sweat Equity is focused on investments that have the power to bring substantial change in the CleanTech, PropTech and SaaS/Platform segments.

In 2022, SEP led the purchase of Glacier Oil & Gas with operations based in Alaska’s Cook Inlet and North Slope. In 2020, SEP successfully sold a majority stake in Path Environmental Technology to Ara Partners. Prior to the transaction, Path’s 2019 revenue grew over 300% due to its market-leading technology that transforms industrial storage tank cleaning by reducing air emissions, landfill waste and man-hours each by over 90%.

In 2012, SEP successfully sold Allied and Lone Star to NRG Energy.  Both these companies led their industry by creating SaaS-solutions for claim processing and technician dispatch. At the time of the sale, Allied had approximately 250,000 customers, and Lone Star had approximately 75 service technicians responding to 20,000+ service calls per year.

Prior to Allied, Andrew was the CFO, and then CEO, of Home Solutions of America, a publicly-traded roll-up of fire/water restoration companies. During his tenure, he led the listing of Home Solutions on the American Stock Exchange. Prior to Home Solutions, Andrew was involved in industrial services, physical security, and a start-up internet concept (which failed btw).  Andrew began his career at CS First Boston (today’s Credit Suisse) in the Leveraged Finance Group with coverage responsibility for KKR.

Outside of his business efforts, Andrew ran for the Democratic nomination for Governor of Texas, winning a position in the May 2018 run-off election. Although he was ultimately unsuccessful, he believes it’s your turn next…!

Andrew graduated from Houston’s Lamar High School in 1991. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies from the University of Virginia (1994) and a Master’s in Business Administration degree from the University of Texas (2003). Andrew serves on the UTHealth Development Board and the University of Houston's Hobby School of Public Affairs Development Board. He is a partner at Houston’s The Story Church.

He enjoys reading, tennis, and fly fishing - although never at the same time.
